The History of the Suffolk Development Agency
The Suffolk Development Agency, partly funded by the East of England Development Agency
(EEDA), is a sub-regional economic partnership.
The goal is to develop an economic strategy for all of Suffolk and provides key services including inward
investment, tourism, commercial property database management and promotion in addition to more.
The EEDA has delivered results and has been a positive force on the people of England as they stretch their
practices throughout the country with development agencies like SDA who have teamed with them in building through
economic unification.
Ipswich is the location for the headquarters for the Suffolk Development Agency and is
located on Felaw Maltings.
Suffolk began with settlers who farmed and lived off the land such as sheep herding in wool towns such as
woodbridge.
As Suffolk expands into more modern businesses the development agency has been there providing quality workspace
centers and offices to build rural areas to meet the modern needs of the UK.
Aldeburgh, Southwold, Ipswich and Stowmarket are a few of the areas that have become well toured areas that
unite the history with modern convenience and business sense. Business development centers located at Lowestoft,
Leiston and Sudbury supply start-up and micro businesses across the county.
Suffolk has some of the richest history in the UK as well as some of the finest schools and lowest crime
rates.
As this gem of East Anglia England rises to the surface the Suffolk Development Agency works hard to make sure
that all of the blessings of Suffolk remain intact. The charm and expanse of the countryside, the long stretch of
coast accompanied by the award winning beaches lure many people to the area. The SDA assures that nothing is lost
as development proceeds.
The mission is clear, improving the economy of Suffolk while retaining all that Suffolk has to offer. The key to
their success is in the partnership with the EEDA and the networking throughout East England.
With the accountability to build trust and the abilities to help businesses through the recession, supporting
the people and breathing in new life to historic places the Suffolk Development Agency betters East Anglia
England.
